THE DUGOUT
😬 - Ruud van Nistelrooy is facing an uncertain future at Leicester with the club undecided over whether he will stay next season. According to Rob Dorsett of Sky Sports, no immediate plans for a change are in the offing albeit talks over his future have been held.
👀 - While he could leave, former Premier League midfielder Lee Hendrie has suggested that the Foxes should give Van Nistelrooy an opportunity to manage the club in the second tier.
Speaking to Football League World, he said: “It’s whether they keep hold of Van Nistelrooy, I’d certainly give him a chance.
“I think in the Championship, and given the money and the right resources to bring players in next season for Leicester is going to be so important.”
TRANSFERS
📝 - Sticking with Hendrie, he has also given his verdict on Jamie Vardy’s future and has suggested that League One promotion chasers Wrexham could be an option for the striker. Read what he said here.
👀 - Meanwhile, EFL pundit David Prutton has also offered his view on extending Vardy’s contract. He has told Leicester to have a “succession plan” in place but believes the forward could still be effective. He was also talking to Football League World.
👋 - On the topic of incomings, Leicester are reportedly interested in Go Ahead Eagles star Oliver Antman. That report comes from EFL Analysis, who suggest that Southampton, Sheffield United and Leeds are also eyeing him.
CLUB NEWS
💰 - When it comes to future transfers, Leicester will be aiming to reduce the amount they fork out to agents when signing players. As revealed by The FA, the club paid around £9.6m to representatives over the past 12 months. Leicestershire Live have analysed how that compares to their Premier League rivals.
❌ - Sticking with football governance, the Premier League have confirmed a rule change that closes the loophole that saw Leicester escape punishment for breaching PSR. Dave Powell of LeicestershireLive and The Telegraph’s Tom Morgan have analysed the effects of those changes.
📉 - The Swiss Ramble has also given an excellent look at how Leicester have impacted the finances within the Sky Bet Championship over the past decade. Take a look at his Substack below
🦁 - In better news, Leicester City have announced that the King Power Stadium will host the Lionesses for their pre-Euro 2025 friendly with Jamaica this summer. Find out the full details here.
🤝 - Leicester City have also announced fans will get the chance to meet two stars next Wednesday. Both Jordan Ayew and Bobby de Cordova-Reid will be at the Foxes Fanstore for a half-term meet and greet.
FROM THE DRESSING ROOM
🔙 - In a sight that will be very welcome to Leicester fans, Abdul Fatawu has shared an image of him running as he continues his comeback from a serious knee injury.
🗣️ - Fellow winger Kasey McAteer has spoken out on his “frustration” at his limited football this term and also gave his reaction to Leicester finally ending their goal drought against Brighton, while in a chat with BBC Radio Leicester’s Owynn Palmer-Atkin.
🔎 - Following the stalemate on the South Coast, Jacob Horsfall analysed the performance of Bilal El Khannouss after his impressive outing.
👏 - Another man to earn praise for his performance against Brighton was Stephy Mavididi. And Troy Deeney was so impressed that he named the winger in his Premier League Team of the Week for BBC Sport.
ANALYSIS

😠 - Roy Keane and Ian Wright took a close look at the growing gap between the Premier League and the Championship on The Overlap.
PODCASTS
🎙️ - There’s been plenty of Leicester City audio content this week. The Big Strong Leicester Boys had a fantastic episode with former loan manager Guy Branston - and also analysed the draw with Brighton. Tune in here.
🎙️ - Henry Winter has released an excellent podcast looking at the rise and fall of Leicester’s ownership with a fan protest planned for this weekend’s game against Liverpool.
🎙️ - The Blue Tinted Glasses fan channel has also had its say with two episodes. The first analysed the weekend’s draw with Brighton, while it also took a look at some of the standout fans’ opinions of the season so far.
🗣️ THE POST HORN GALLOP VIEW:
It’s nice to finally have a little bit of positivity at the club after seeing the rot ended on the South Coast. Relegation is a certainty but if the players can give the fans something to cheer between now and the end of the season, then it will make that blow slightly more palpable.
But attention then must turn to next season. Leicester have to make a decision over Van Nistelrooy’s future. The longer that goes on, the more uncertainty will spread over into next term.
Jamie Vardy’s future is also a huge topic of conversation so that also needs thrashing out. If you ask me, he’s still worthy of another year - albeit in the second tier.
